November 2025 – July 2026

Stockholm

Almost eight months in Stockholm, and the day Mälaren froze over.

I lived in Stockholm for almost eight months, from November 2025 to July 2026. It was a relatively short time, but somehow I left with so many long-lasting memories. One of them was the day Mälaren froze over.

Last winter, I walked across the frozen lake, and it felt almost surreal to see a place that is usually so alive with water and boats transformed into a giant winter playground.

This ship wasn't going anywhere that day.

People were walking their dogs, strolling with their babies, and spending time on the ice as if they were having a picnic in the park. Some were simply wandering around, enjoying the winter sun and the strange feeling of being able to walk across a frozen lake.

Everyone out on the lake, strollers and all.

Boats frozen in place, with footprints all around them.

It was one of those quiet Stockholm moments that stayed with me. The city, the frozen lake, and everyone casually enjoying it together.
